Beautiful Moonstone

There is something so dreamy about moonstone.

From colourless through to grey, brown, yellow, green and pink, this alluring stone ranges in clarity from transparent through to translucent.

Moonstone is a sodium potassium aluminium silicate and belongs to the feldspar group.

With a shimmering almost iridescent exterior, when light falls on moonstone it produces ‘adularescence’. Adularescence is the light that appears to billow across a gem. Other feldspar minerals can also show adularescence including labradorite and sanidine (reference: GIA).

Moonstone is the alternative birthstone for June, along with pearl and alexandrite.

A stone for “new beginnings”, moonstone is a stone of inner growth, strength, intuition, inspiration, success and good fortune. It soothes emotional instability and stress, and stabilises the emotions, providing calmness.

We have a lovely range of moonstone jewellery for sale online and in-store.

Chat to us about your dream moonstone jewellery piece and we can sketch out some ideas and show you our range of loose moonstones on hand. We can also source your very own special moonstone.
