That Yellow Diamond Necklace

That Yellow Diamond Necklace

Ever since Lady Gaga graced the red carpet of the 91st Academy Awards in February wearing a century old Tiffany & Co. yellow diamond necklace, we haven’t been able to stop thinking about that yellow diamond necklace.

Digging a little deeper, the incredible Tiffany Yellow Diamond is one of the largest yellow diamonds in the world. It was discovered in South Africa (Kimberley Mine) in 1877.

It was purchased in 1878 for only $18,000 and sent to Paris to be cut into a rounded cushion cut weighing an astonishing 128.54 carats (with 82 facets).

Lady Gaga is the third woman to ever wear the spectacular necklace; first Mary Whitehouse (wife of U.S Minister to Guatemala 1930–33, U.S. Minister to Colombia 1933–34) in 1957, Audrey Hepburn in 1961 and then Lady Gaga in 2019.

We love yellow diamonds. Not only do they symbolise love and devotion but also humility, hope, friendship and happiness.

If you are considering a yellow diamond jewellery piece, we would love to assist you.

We have a number of beautiful yellow diamond pieces available in our store and can also create a bespoke yellow diamond piece especially for you. Contact us to find out more.

We do hope to see that spectacular Tiffany & Co. yellow diamond necklace being worn again as jewellery is made to be seen.
