Discovered in the 80s, Paraiba tourmaline comes from the Brazilian state of Paraiba.
A variety of elbaite tourmaline with copper content, in some stones, so much copper is present that inclusions of native copper—almost pure metal—highlight the interior.
Found in vivid hues of greenish blue, bluish green, green, blue, and violet, geological rarity means that demand for this spectacular stone is high.
We have paired Paraiba tourmaline with pink tourmaline and diamonds in the dazzling 18ct white gold ring (pictured).
