Tanzanite has an interesting history. In 1962 blue stones mined in Tanzania were identified as Zoisite, however, it was not until 1967 that the stone was named Tanzanite in respect to its country of origin.
Tiffany & Co. became the largest distributor of the stone in 1968 and the stone soon took off in popularity.
Tanzanite is said to open the pathway between the heart and mind assisting in kindness, compassion and enlightenment.
Turquoise has a very long history and has been used in jewellery and other adornments since 5000BC.
The stone was though to guarantee good health and fortune and provide protection to the wearer.
The gift of a turquoise ring means “forget me not.” in European tradition and in Tibet it is considered a national treasure.
Turquoise is said to provide power, wisdom, luck, protection and immortality.
Zircon occurs in a mutitude of colours from colourless through to yellow, green, red, and blue. Colourless zircon is known for its brilliance and flashes of multicolored light, called fire.
Zircon are the oldest material on earth and were formed by crystallisation from magma (or in metamorphic rocks). They are durable and resistant to chemical attack.
Zircon is said to bring balance, spiritual grounding and healing to those who wear it
